Rhelisa's playlist...

So this is it. I've put my first song her for everybody to hear.
I'm exited and nervous at the same time....

Music is the one thing that keeps me going, a lifespirit actually... I began making lyrics when I was about ten or something although they don't make any sense to me as I read em now...
My very first song I made maybe when I was twelve or thirteen and ever since I've had the pressure on me to make THE SONG. Maybe I someday will make it. But just for now I settle for if I can make a song that's still ok the next day.

More songs to come as long as I get past the difficulties that I have with every single machine involved. :)

Yellow Skied Town

This song was written and recorded in one very cold evening, but it carries the brightest minds that were trying to get out for few years now. It is just a demo, maybe someday I'll record a normal version.
Recorded with a laptop, Audio Technica ATR 25 stereo condenser mic and Iriver mp3 player (as a preamp).

Yellow Skied Town

upon my town shines the yellow sky
for the first time I really opened my eyes
and saw the crowds of people standing in a way
they were unhappy but wanted there to stay

The streets I walk every single day
are always empty because no-one comes my way
and if someone says that life means only war
I know my eyes saw a little more

------------------------------------------------------

guess there's nothing new in this yellow skied town
and no-one will show me the life I don't know
outside the walls surrounding my thoughts
there's nothing new

------------------------------------------------------

when i was sad to face the death
that come ant tuck one my beloved man
my eyes were tearing and minds just going on
I sat silent and felt so bright in my heart

the road ahead was long and it was getting dark
I wasn't scared - I saw the shining stars above
I knew the music forever be my mate
i felt it knows me - my sadness love and hate

In a Heartbeat

A simple groove which I kept building on, feel free to space out.

Some of you might recognize this as the theme song to 28 Days Later. After seeing that movie this song was stuck in my head for weeks, so I simply had to make my own version.

Thanks for listening.

Rat Fight (album)

Hey there, this is a song called Rat Fight from my band Midnight Spaghetti & The Chocolate G-Strings off of our album Velour On The Floor. I've posted before, but back then, all I had was live recordings. Got some good feedback, so I thought I'd bring it back with the studio versions. Listen, enjoy, spill your guts, gimme the feedback, y'all!

In case you're interested, this was recorded in our home studio using our own equipment. We engineered and mixed the whole thing, final mastering was done be Vinton Fountain at Nebula Mastering. We used three kinds of mics in the entire recording process, hooked into a Digi 002 and Protools.

LYRICS

I don't feel sympathetic if you took a diuretic
and now you've got to pee
something's in your dome, but you're not at home
this chick is about to OD
elk mating call echo from outside
but it's only kids blowing in horns
she did it at first 'cause she needed the grade
but liked the way the antlers adorned

cab driver with every answer
but too proud to tell anyone
talk radio host late night coast-to-coast
with the find of the millennium
a new theory of time, fix your love life, eliminate accidents
completely confirmed by the evidence
for believers, that is

rat fight in the middle of the night
'cause they didn't know you were there
the high-pitched squeal always gives them away
you can smell by the blood in their hair
so make a dash under the ashtray
or the hole underneath the stair
don't linger for too long
or you might forget why you care

sleeping in the lab just to get the job done
passed out on the floor alone
housekeeping woke me up at 4 AM
I guess that it's time to go home
not quite raining and not quite dry
everything feels soggy and wet
back on track for a little while
but it's too easy to forget

This is a pretty simplistic, good natured song recorded on an even more simplistic computer microphone.
